OPAL is proud to work with Recipe for Change, who are the experts in improving management, systems and behaviour in the dining hall. Staff receive training in positive behaviour strategies that help them de-escalate incidents and build up healthy relationships with all children. The training gives meal staff and Supervisors an opportunity to have their say and invites them, based on their own feedback, to identify how lunchtime can be improved. R4C helps to create a restaurant style dining room that motivates children to eat together and eat better. This is based on children knowing who they are sitting with, where, when and for how long.

OPAL and Recipe for Change are separate organisations but we have worked in tandem in a number of schools to great effect.
