With 30 years’ experience in primary education, including 15 years as a Headteacher, Dave has dedicated his career to helping children learn, grow and reach their full potential.

He is committed to creating positive, inclusive school environments where children feel happy, confident and inspired to learn.

During his time as Headteacher, his school successfully implemented and embedded the OPAL approach, achieving Platinum accreditation. He witnessed first-hand the transformative impact of high-quality, child-led play—not only on children’s enjoyment and wellbeing, but on the wider culture and ethos of the school.

Dave believes strongly in giving children the freedom to explore, create, take appropriate risks, develop resilience and build relationships. He believes play is far more than simply a break from learning; when valued and thoughtfully developed, it becomes a powerful part of a child’s educational experience.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys running and swimming, with a particular love of cross-country running during the winter months. For Dave, the wetter and muddier the course, the better!
