Sam Bianca

Sam began working in education in 2019 as a Teaching Assistant, supporting children 1:1 and quickly discovering that working with young people requires patience, creativity, and the ability to stay calm. She later became an HLTA and OPAL Play Coordinator, where she saw just how much high‑quality play can change a child’s day — especially for those who find the classroom tough.

Seeing OPAL in action sparked her passion for creating playtimes that are inclusive, joyful, and full of moments where children surprise you in the best possible ways. Sam is warm, nurturing, and unflappable, with a practical streak that helps her build routines staff can actually use.

As an OPAL Mentor, she’s excited to help schools create happier, more adventurous playtimes — and to champion the kind of play that lets every child feel seen, included, and free to be themselves.
